Wine Certificate Program

Experience the ultimate introduction to the world’s wines. Enthusiasts will develop their understanding and knowledge of more than 100 wines through tastings and lectures from experts. This program is designed for enthusiasts and professionals who seek to develop their understanding and knowledge of wine. Our experts will guide and teach you how to identify and evaluate wines, pair wines with food, and how to buy, store, serve, and even sell wine. Since 1999, numerous enthusiasts and professionals have completed this course; so before you ponder over another wine list, join us and explore the world of wine.

The Business of Wine: Advanced Wine Certificate Program

Come get an overview of the wine business including: importers, whole-salers, growing grapes, making wine, retailing in supermarkets, restaurants, and liquor stores, analytical tastings, matching wine and food.

This course is taught by three world-renowned wine experts, Patrick "Chip" Cassidy, Bill Hebrank, and Eric Hemer in the school's state-of-the-art wine lab.

Course Topics:

  • Refine sensory evaluation and identify wine styles
  • Turn juice into wine and learn about test, filtration, PH malolactic fermentation, sulphur dioxide, and chaptialization
  • Identify all the noble grapes and their taste profiles
  • Gain insight into the world wine market and international trade
  • Learn how the grapevine spreads throughout the world and the essentials to cultivate a vineyard
  • Explore new world vs. old world, and much more!

Sommelier Certificate Prep Course

This ultimate course for any wine lover or aspiring sommelier provides the knowledge needed to take the first of four steps to become a Master Sommelier. Attendees will participate in an intensive, fast-paced study of grapes, wine growing regions, food and wine pairings and how to assess wine. The course ends in a theory exam which prepares the student for the Sommelier Certificate Exam.
